A&R Neptun Boat Service was sold to Hans-Hinrich Schulz, whom founded the SMG Werft AG in 2002. Production facilities were upgraded, allowing the modern construction of yachts up to a length of 50 meters.

parts of Neptun mergered with Abeking & Rasmussen to form the new A&R Neptun Boat Service GmhH. Since then maintenance and repair work carried out on more than 600 yachts and ships which belonged to the German Navy and German authorities.

In 1850, a mechanical engineer named Albrecht Tischebein founded the “Schiffswerft und Maschinenbauanstalt”, the later shipyard “Neptun Werft”. Since then more than 1500 new ships were build there and thousands of vessels repaired for owners worldwide.
